About & methodology
LegalPriceWatch is an independent tracker of what legal software costs firms of 1–10 lawyers, run by Catherine, who works in small-law-firm operations.
How prices are collected
- Each price carries a source: vendor page (copied from the official pricing page on the date shown) or practitioner-reported (from a firm owner's own research or a quote, with the month reported). Practitioner prices are labelled wherever they appear; entries not re-verified get a ⚠ badge.
- Where a vendor removed its pricing, we look for archived copies and show them only as historical with the archive link.
- Every price comes from the vendor's own public pricing page, linked on each tool page. We record the date checked.
- If a vendor doesn't publish a price, we say Not published, quote only. We never estimate, guess, or use third-party price rumours.
- A text snapshot of each pricing page is saved every week and compared to the last one; changes are reviewed by a person before the site is updated.
- "Partial" means some tiers show prices and others say "get pricing", or the page is ambiguous about billing term.
- Some pages couldn't be loaded on the check date; those tools are marked unverified rather than filled in from memory.
Limits
Published list prices aren't negotiated prices, and they leave out taxes, payment-processing fees, onboarding and data-migration fees unless stated. Reader-reported quotes (coming soon) will be shown separately from list prices and anonymised.
Money
The site may earn referral fees and sponsorships. These never change the data. See the disclosure.
